SEOUL, Oct. 21 (Yonhap) -- The sports film One Win, which centers on volleyball, is set to hit theaters in December, as announced by distributor Artist Studio on the 21st.
The movie tells the story of a professional women's volleyball team with virtually no chance of victory—comprising a coach who has never won, an owner who isn’t interested in winning, and players who don’t know how to win—all joining forces to achieve a single victory.
Song Kang-ho takes on the role of Woo-jin, the new coach of the volleyball team Pink Storm. Woo-jin's life as a coach has been filled with failures, maintaining an average win rate below 10%, facing dismissals, bankruptcy, and a divorce, leading him to a desperate point in his personal life. Despite this, he becomes the coach of Pink Storm, a team on the brink of disbandment.
Park Jung-min plays Jeong-won, the team's owner who promises a 2 billion won reward if the team can secure just one win. Meanwhile, Jang Yoon-ju portrays Soo-ji, the captain of Pink Storm, who has persisted as a long-standing bench player until finally earning a spot as a regular member of the team.
The film is directed and written by Shin Yeon-shik, who previously collaborated with Song Kang-ho in the Disney+ series "Uncle Samsik."
