SEOUL, Sept. 10 (Yonhap) -- Actors Jeon Do-yeon and Park Hae-soo, who appeared together in the play "The Cherry Orchard," will reunite for a drama depicting the realities of the real estate market.

tvN said Thursday that the two will star in a new series tentatively titled "The Great Bang Ok-sook," which is scheduled to air in the first half of next year.

Based on a webtoon of the same name, the drama follows a survival battle between a tough-as-nails residents' association determined to protect home prices and a real gangster who heads a redevelopment association.

Jeon will play Bang Ok-sook, the power broker who dominates the residents' association at Noble Gold Castle. She will stop at nothing to protect the value of the "Han River-view" apartment she managed to buy after years of hardship.

Park will play Yoon Tae-woong, the redevelopment association chief who goes head-to-head with Bang. Yoon pushes forward a redevelopment project that had been stalled for 10 years, putting the Noble Gold Castle residents' association in crisis.

The cast also includes Kim Sun-young, Kim Geum-soon, Kim Gook-hee, Woo Jung-won, Gong Seong-ha and Baek Hyun-jin.

The screenplay will be written by Lee Ki-chul, who penned the screenplays for "The Thieves," "Assassination" and "Escape from Mogadishu." Kim Hyung-sik, director of "Surgeon Bong Dal-hee," "Phantom," "The Secret Door" and "Under the Queen's Umbrella," will direct.

Jeon and Park will be working together for the third time, following "The Cherry Orchard" and the Netflix series "The Price of Confession."
