SEOUL, Jan. 16 (Yonhap) -- The Netflix original series Bloodhounds, which follows boxers who use their fists to take down the underworld, is set to return for Season 2.

Netflix announced on Thursday that production for Bloodhounds Season 2 is confirmed, with Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi reprising their roles as Gun-woo and Woo-jin, respectively.

Season 2 will introduce a new face: singer-turned-actor Jung Ji-hoon, also known as Rain. He will portray Baek Jung, a figure in an illegal boxing league and the season's main antagonist. This marks Rain's first villain role in his 20-year acting career, drawing significant attention.

While Season 1 depicted young boxers Gun-woo and Woo-jin battling illegal loan sharks, Season 2 will focus on their mission to dismantle an illegal boxing league.

Bloodhounds is based on the popular Naver Webtoon of the same name and was adapted into a Netflix series in 2023.

Studio N, a subsidiary of Naver Webtoon, participated in the production.
