SEOUL, Oct. 25 (Yonhap) -- Filmmaker Jang Hang-jun's upcoming film, tentatively titled The Man Who Lives with the King, has finalized its cast, distributor Showbox announced on the 25th.
The historical drama portrays the story of a village chief and his residents who care for a young dethroned king in his place of exile.
Yoo Hae-jin will play the village chief, while singer-actor Park Ji-hoon will portray the young king. Actor Yoo Ji-tae, making his return to the big screen, has been cast as the most powerful figure of the era.
In supporting roles, Jeon Mi-do will play the exiled king’s court lady, and Kim Min will take on the role of the village chief’s son. Special appearances will be made by Lee Joon-hyuk and Park Ji-hwan.
Known for Forgotten (2017) and Rebound (2023), Jang Hang-jun is tackling the historical genre for the first time. Filming for The Man Who Lives with the King is set to begin in the first half of next year.
