SEOUL April 18 (Yonhap) -- Entertainment company Attrakt and it's CEO Jeon Hong-jun have filed a lawsuit against SBS TV's current affairs and culture program "Unanswered Questions" over coverage of last year's exclusive contract dispute.

Attrakt announced on Thursday that they had filed a complaint with the Seoul Gangnam Police Station against the program's director Cho Sang-yeon and producer Han Jae-shin for defamation based on false information.

Kim Byeong-ok, the legal representative for Attrakt, stated, "The defendants broadcast biased content without verifying the facts," alleging, "They disseminated false information, damaging the reputation of the company and the former CEO."

"Unanswered Questions" shed light on the FIFTY FIFTY controversy in the episode titled "Billboard and Girl Groups" in August 2023. The broadcast date was just ten days before the court's decision on the preliminary injunction filed by three former members regarding the existence of an exclusive contract.

Following the broadcast, viewers criticized the content as biased, and the Korea Communications Standards Commission received a total of 1,146 complaints.

Last month, the commission decided to issue a formal warning against the program.

Jeon Hong-jun, CEO of Attrakt, commented, "Despite the crisis our company faced due to the tampering incident, we were able to overcome it thanks to the trust and support of everyone who believed in us," adding, "Biased broadcasts that damage the image of the entire K-pop industry and cause confusion should not be allowed to continue. As there was no sincere apology from the defendants, we decided to take legal action."
