SEOUL February 19 (Yonhap) -- Newly returned drama series “Taxi Driver Season 2” has kicked off its season with 12 percent viewing rate.
According to Nielsen Korea, South Korean Television Audience Measurement company, drama series “Taxi Driver Season 2” which premiered on February 18 recorded 12.1 percent viewing rate.
From the first episode, drama “Taxi Driver” showcased the process of punishing criminals.
Protagonist Kim Do-gi acted by Lee Je-hoon decides to disguise himself as a prisoner in order to bring justice to those who revived very light prison sentence after sharing videos of sexual exploitation and illegal films, throughout the episode, Kim Do-gi brings justice to prisoners with help from his co worker providing satisfaction to audiences.
Rainbow Taxi company which is led by the protagonist becomes disassembled after their final job which was to bring justice to those who share illegally filmed videos, walk their own path, however members miss working as part of the Rainbow Taxi company bringing justice and providing revenge service.
Rainbow Taxi company which has discontinued its service has once again re grouped themselves in order to help out a desperate father figure who has been in search for his son for past 10 months.
Throughout the process of finding the missing son, Kim Do-gi stumbles upon a group of an illegal criminal group “Chungeum International” who lures young kids who are looking for a job opportunity abroad, and departs to Vietnam in order to track down the group.
First episode of the series showcases Kim Do-gi locked up by criminals of the group with no one to help him get out of the situation, which increased audiences interest in how things will play out throughout the season.
“Taxi Drive Season 2” touched on various social issues, such as light sentence implemented on those who illegally share videos of sexual exploitation and more showcasing the problem being seen throughout the legal system in South Korea which is incompatible to violent crimes.
The drama which uses the key idea of private revenge, as the judicial system alone cannot bring the rightful justice to some of the vigorous criminals, is expected to bring satisfaction to those who watch the series.
