S.Korean singer Lim Young-woong successfully finishes his domestic tour and to return with Encore concert in December

SEOUL, August 15 (Yonhap) -- “Today is the last day of my domestic tour, we kicked off the show when the flowers started to bloom during the spring, however summer is almost passed. If it wasn’t for you guys, it would not have been possible, therefore I would like to thank you guys all.” announced Lim Young-woong during his final performance from his domestic tour.

Lim Young-woong is a winner of South Korean trot, a Korean traditional genre of music, audition program “Mr. Trot” who topped music charts with trot which happened in more than ten years in and managed to sell out over 1 million copies of his album on the first week of its release as S.Korean male solo artist.

On top of his success within 2 years of him winning South Korean broadcasting service TV Chosun’s “Mr. Trot” in 2020 he has received numerous love calls from not only within the music industry but also throughout the broadcasting industry and advertising industries as well.

Throughout S. Korean Independence Day weekend, artist Lim Young-woong has successfully set another milestone in his artist career with his first domestic solo concert “IM HERO” Seoul.

Starting off in his tour in Goyang City in May, Lim Young-woong successfully continued on with his concerts in, Changwon, Gwangju, Daejeon, Incheon, Daegu and more.

Seoul Concert started off on August 12, served as not only a finale for his first solo domestic concert, but also serves as Lim Young-woong managed to sell out his solo concert at the “KSPO Dome” which is considered as the holy ground of K-pop.

Fans of Lim Young-woong filled up the “KSPO Dome” wearing a sky blue t-shirt representing his official fandom “Youngwoong Era” and those who could not get their hands on the ticket waited singer Lim Young-woong through the live stream provided by the OTT services in S.Korea.

Not only domestic but also fans who managed get their hands on the ticket from all over the world gathered together at the KSPO Dome. Fans from various age groups showed up at the concert, a little eight years old boy up to senior citizens over 90. “Thank you Young-woong, till the end of time,” “I’m tipsy from Young-woong,” and more unique plaques could be found at the scene of the concert.

When the KSPO Dome blacked out and the countdown from 60 hit 0 Lim Young-woong appeared on to the stage and the crowd went while screaming.

Lim Young-woong appeared on to the stage in an interesting manner, he appeared from the back of a dark screen with Moses like action, by splitting a giant screen on top of the stage. Lim Young-woong then hyped up the crowd by saying “Scream South Korea!”

He sang with his powerful but yet very refreshing voice throughout his concert, while conducting the audience with his hand gesture. Also while singing an up tempo song, he showed off his dance moves throughout prelude and bridges. He’s fan service was like a hero as well.

Throughout the concert, Lim Young-woong walked up to the front end of T shaped stage to greet his fans, which lead the audience to go wild. Lim Young-woong made eye contacts with his fans and read out their fan signs in their own language. He also showed heart signs after performing his songs.

Especially during his track “Old Song” singer Lim Young-woong walked down from his stage to hold one of his fans hand to sing a verse. Also to commemorate his time appearing in “Call Center of Love” Lim Young-woong sang couple of the tracks on the spot.

“I will do my best to make this concert memorable not only for you but also for me as well.” adding “ I failed at buying my own ticket, when I tried there was over 600 thousand people in line to get the ticket but I have heard it went up to 800 thousand people and exceeded over 153 hours of queue.” Singer Lim Young-woong stated during his concert.

He continued on by stating “Before we start off this concert I would like to say that I am very sorry for those who have suffered from the recent heavy rain, and now I would like to start off the concert with applause from my fans.” adding “There are people who are helping those who are in need due to the recent heavy rain, please send a round of applause to those heroes as well.”

Lim Young-woong hyped up the crowd throughout the concert by performing a drama OST “Love always run away” which was loved by numerous people, and more songs from “Call center of Love.”

Also throughout the concert he appeared on to the stage with Hanbok, Korean traditional attire, and sang and danced to “A Bientot” while he showed up in a white suit for the performance of “Rainbow.”

“How was my dance, I am confident in my dance. I have quite seriously considered about making my title track for the second album a dance track.” Lim Young-woong humorously asked the audience throughout the concert.

Over three hours, Lim Young-woong filled up the concert with various tracks, such as ballad, trot, dance and more. From “The Son Of Pocheon Citiy” to “Son of South Korea” up to “South Korea’s Hero” Lim Young-woong became very successful.

Moreover, Lim Young-woong reflected on the grim and chaotic society due to COVID 19 by performing “Story of old Couple in their 60s” and “Father”, which are tracks with emotional lyrics.

Throughout his concert Lim Young-woong revealed his plans for encore concerts which will take place in Busan Bexco and Gocheok Sky Dome, Seoul in December. Lim Young-woong will be the first trot singer to ever hold their concert in Gocheok Sky Dome which can hold up to 20 thousand people.

He finished his concert by stating “Time that will never repeat, some might felt very short, some might not, this song goes out to those who have walked the path in silence. Sing with me and I will always be here on this stage waiting for you guys.”
