SEOUL, Dec. 30 (Yonhap) -- HR Tech company Incruit announced on Friday that its members have selected actor Park Eun-bin, soccer player Son Heung-min, and Samsung Electronics chairman Lee Jae-yong as the "2022 People of the Year."

This is the result of Incruit's survey of 1,333 members from the Dec. 19 to 22 into three categories: broadcasting and entertainment; sports; economy and companies.

Actress Park Eun-bin (23.7%), who played an outstanding role in the drama "Extraordinary Woo," ranked first in the broadcasting and entertainment category. The reason for such choice was for its popularity (46.2%).

Boy group BTS placed second (19.8%), and actor Son Seok-goo (8.9%) from the movie "The Roundup" and the drama "My Liberation Notes" came in third place.

The captain of Korean national team at the Qatar World Cup, Son Heung-min (53.7%), topped in the sports field. The reason for the choice was recognition of achievement (45.4%).

In addition, Cho Gue-sung (14.8%) who scored multiple goals in the World Cup for the first time in Korean football history and Lee Kang-in (10.5%) who grew up as a national team member placed second and third, respectively.

Chairman Lee Jae-yong (33.8%) came in first in the economic and business category. The most voted reason was expectations on his future works (53.4%).

Last year's first place, Tesla CEO Elon Musk placed second this year.

Incruit explained that the characteristic of this year's survey is that Park Eun-bin, Son Seok-goo, Cho Kyu-sung, and Lee Kang-in, who have never made the list, appeared high on the list as "New Faces."

In the same survey last year, former Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Jeong Eun-kyung, BTS, and volleyball player Kim Yeon-kyung were chosen as the people of the year.

Meanwhile, for the representative issues of this year were the Russia-Ukraine War (62.7%) and the Qatar World Cup (45.7%).
