SEOUL, Aug. 21 (Yonhap) -- K-pop group BIGBANG will kick off a new world tour in Goyang on Friday to mark its 20th anniversary, YG Entertainment said.
The group will hold the "XX: COSMOS" tour for three days from Friday at Goyang Stadium's main field in Goyang, just north of Seoul.
The members have been directly involved in all aspects of the concert's production, from the setlist and stage design to overall direction.
They will perform "BiiiG," their new song released four years and four months after their previous group release, live for the first time at the concerts.
The tour has also brought together a high-profile team of staff and musicians. Top-tier band sessions led by Wow Jones, who has worked with pop stars Usher and Post Malone, among others, will provide live accompaniment throughout the set.
Mike Carson, director of the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show, and Es Devlin, who designed the stage for the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, have also joined the production team.
Starting with Goyang, BIGBANG will perform a total of 33 shows in 19 cities across North America, Europe, Oceania and Asia. Additional tour destinations will be announced sequentially.
