SEOUL, Sept. 10 (Yonhap) -- IU, a singer and actress, will release her new digital single "From This Star" at 6 p.m. Thursday, her agency, EDAM Entertainment, said.

 

The release marks IU's first new music in a year, following "Bye, Summer" in September last year.

 

The single features "From This Star" and "Dear my crazy soulmate" as double title tracks. IU wrote the lyrics for both songs herself. The tracks will also be included in her upcoming sixth studio album.

 

IU will release the music video for "Dear my crazy soulmate" at 6 p.m. Thursday. She appears as a police officer in the video, acting alongside actress Shim Dal-gi.

 

Actress Kim Young-ok drew attention with an appearance in the music video's teaser.

 

IU will release the music video for the other title track, "From This Star," at midnight on Sept. 16.
