SEOUL, May 2 (Yonhap) – K-pop boy group Stray Kids has held the world tour “MANIAC” at Jamsil Arena in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on May 1 afternoon.
Stray Kids, which has become a leading K-pop idol group by showing intense performances and the group’s own unique style of music, met its fans. It is in about two years and five months since the world tour in 2019.
Most of the seats in the concert hall, which can accommodate a total of 10,000 audiences, were filled up 30 minutes before the concert began. It was filled with more than 5,000 audiences, except for the space where large-scale electronic boards and thrust stages were installed.
The concert on this day marked its splendid start with the title song "MANIAC" of the mini album "ODDINARY,” which was dropped in March.
When the name "Stray Kids" appeared on the electronic display on the stage, the roar of the crowd rose from the concert hall.
Fans wearing masks added to the amusement by waving their LED wands with one hand and swinging clappers made of paper with the other. The fans, who cheered by calling each member's name, shouted at the top of their voices in the chorus of "MANIAC."
Fans responded with thunderous shouts when the members who sang three songs, including "VENOM" and "Red Lights," shouted "Stay" (Stray Kids' fan club name).
Member Han said, "It's our first concert in two years and five months," adding, "It feels even more special since it’s the concert held after a long time of not being able to do anything properly.”
Along with the band’s live performances, Stray Kids filled the stage with songs that clearly show the group’s own color of music.
When Lee Know shouted, “Didn’t you guys forget about your social position when entering the concert hall? You just have to enjoy here,” fans cried even louder.
All of the audiences stood up in their seats and enjoyed the excitement of “standing” when the group sang “YAYAYA” after an hour and a half of its concert.
Stray Kids performed a total of 28 songs at the concert on Sunday and filled the stage with heats for over three hours.
Bang Chan said farewell, “We were able to step further thanks to you guys. It’s all due to your support,” while Seung-min expressed his gratitude, saying, “’Stay’ always helps us to become better people.”
Stray Kids, which finished all of the Seoul concerts on Sunday, is set to leave for Japan next month.
The group will hold the concerts in Kobe from June 11 to 12 and Tokyo from June 18 to 19, followed by the concerts in Newark, Chicago, Atlanta, Fort Worth, Los Angeles(LA), Auckland, and Seattle, the United States, which will be held until July.
