SEOUL, May 9 (Yonhap) -- THE BOYZ and Apink’s agency IST Entertainment will launch a new boy group called ABO later this year.

IST Entertainment confirmed the lineup of seven members through MBN·KakaoTV boy group survival program “The Origin” on May 7th.

The members include Jeong Seung-hwan, Oh Jun-seok, Seok Rak-won, Ryu Jun-min, Bae Hyun-jun, Yang Dong-hwa, and Kim Yeon-kyu.

The rookie group’s name is ABO, which stands for “At the Beginning of Originality” and contains the ambition to unfold a new and original story in the global K-pop market.

“The Origin,” a survival program planned and produced jointly by Kakao Entertainment and Japan's Sony Music Solutions, aired for 8 weeks starting last March.
