SEOUL, May 31 (Yonhap) -- Director Lee Jong-pil's melodrama film "Pavane" has cast Go Ah-sung, Byun Yo-han, and Moon Sang-min in the lead roles and recently commenced filming, as announced by distributor Plus M Entertainment on the 31st.

Adapted from the bestselling novel "Pavane for a Dead Princess" by author Park Min-gyu, the film tells the story of three individuals who, unable to love even themselves, find light in each other and come to face life and love.

Go Ah-sung plays Mi-jeong, a department store employee who has closed herself off from the world due to the uncomfortable stares she receives because of her gloomy appearance.

Byun Yo-han takes on the role of Yo-han, a free spirit who loves rock music and melodramas, working as a parking lot attendant at the department store.

Moon Sang-min portrays Kyung-rok, who, having abandoned his dreams, meets Mi-jeong while working part-time at the department store and develops special feelings for her. Moon Sang-min, known for his roles in dramas such as "Wedding Impossible," "The Queen's Umbrella," and "Duty After School," makes his film debut with "Pavane."

Director Lee Jong-pil, who is also behind the upcoming film "The Escape," as well as "Samjin Company English Class" and the drama "Park Ha-kyung's Journey," helms the project.

Regarding "Pavane," Director Lee stated, "I believe that youth and love are something we can face anew, whether we are just now experiencing them or have already moved past them. I will do my best to create a film that can be loved by both those who are young and those who have once been young."
