SEOUL, September 13 (Yonhap)-- The music video for girl group BLACKPINK's debut song 'Whistle' surpassed 800 million views on YouTube, their agency YG Entertainment announced on Tuesday.
The music video was released in August of 2016, and it surpassed 800 million views on September 12, at 11:08 p.m., after six years and a month.
YG Entertainment said, "Since the release of the second full-length pre-release song, 'Pink Venom', the number of views on the music video of 'Whistle' has blown up to over 850,000 views every day," adding, "The record reflects how excited people are for the new album."
As a result, BLACKPINK has a total of eight videos with more than 800 million views, including "DDU-DU DDU-DU," "Kill This Love," and "BOOMBAYAH."
The song "Whistle" is one of the two title songs from their debut single album "SQUARE ONE."
