SEOUL, April 21 (Yonhap) -- Taeyang of K-pop group BigBang will release his fourth full-length solo album, "Quintessence," on May 18, his agency said Tuesday.
According to The Black Label, the upcoming album marks his first release in about three years since the EP "Down to Earth" in April 2023.
It will also be his first full-length solo album in around nine years since "White Night," released in August 2017.
The album title "Quintessence" refers to the essence or core of something.
The agency said Taeyang aims to showcase his capabilities as an all-around solo artist and present a new musical world through the album.
Taeyang debuted in 2006 as a member of BigBang and is celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut this year.
The group recently performed as a full lineup at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 12 and 19 (local time), where they also announced plans for a new album and a world tour.
