SEOUL, Mar. 22 (Yonhap) – On April 6, a large fireworks show will be held at Gwangalli Beach in Busan to wish for the hosting of the 2030 Busan World Expo.
The event is aimed at showing off the enthusiasm for hosting the expo and the ability to hold large-scale events in time for the due diligence team of the International Expo Organization, which checks the preparation status of the 2030 Busan Expo, to visit Busan (April 4-7).
The Busan Metropolitan Government has announced on Wednesday that it will hold a fireworks show to host the 2030 Busan Expo at Gwangalli Beach from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on April 6.
Unlike the Busan Fireworks Festival, which is held in three places: Gwangalli, Haeundae, and Nam-gu, it is held only at Gwangalli Beach.
A fireworks talk show will begin at 7:30 p.m. on the same day in the form of a radio broadcast, introducing episodes related to the expo and stories of citizens.
It will also present three preliminary fireworks.
The band "KARDI," a public ambassador for the Busan Expo, will then hold a celebratory performance, and a countdown event for the 2030 Busan Expo will be held for five minutes from 8:25 p.m.
The main event, the fireworks show, will be held under the theme of "K-Wave" for 30 minutes from 8:30 p.m.
Along with the mega fireworks that can only be seen in Busan and with the representative fireworks “Niagara” set in Gwangandaegyo Bridge, there will be a large fireworks performance that embodies the 2030 Busan Expo.
The Busan Metropolitan Government will partially control Gwangandaegyo Bridge from April 2 to 7 for the installation and demolition of structures.
On April 6, the day of the event, the upper part of the Gwangandaegyo Bridge will be controlled from 3:30 p.m. and the lower part will be controlled from 6:30 p.m. until the end of the fireworks show.
