SEOUL, Aug. 25 (Yonhap) -- Actor Jang Dong-yoon, 34, and actress Kim Seung-yoon, 29, are getting married.

 

Jang's agency BH Entertainment said Tuesday that the two will tie the knot in October.

 

The couple have been dating for a long time and will hold a private wedding ceremony in the form of a worship service, attended only by members of both families.

 

Jang posted a handwritten letter on social media Monday, saying, "As we spent a lot of time together, we came to know each other's many sides, and in the process, we came to understand and cherish each other even more."

 

"Now, we have decided to be each other's closest ally and live a fun and happy life together," he added.

 

"I will do my best to show you good sides of myself as an actor and to live a more mature life as a person," he said.

 

Jang first drew public attention in 2015 when he was featured in news reports as a brave "handsome college student" after apprehending a robber at a convenience store in Seoul.

 

He made his entertainment debut the following year in the web drama "The Girls at My Job," and has since appeared in a range of dramas and films, including "The Tale of Nokdu," "Oasis," "Like Flowers in Sand," "Run Boy Run" and "The Wolf Brigade."

 

Kim made her acting debut in 2019 with "The Tale of Nokdu," which starred Jang, and has appeared in "The Auditors," as well as Hong Sang-soo's film "In Water."

 

Jang made his directorial debut with the short film "Be My Ears" in 2023 and directed his first feature film, "Nureuk," in April this year. Kim starred in both films.
