Latest RPG 'Diablo II: Resurrected' released by Blizzard Entertainment

SEOUL, Sept. 25 (Yonhap) -- Video game developer Blizzard Entertainment has come back with a new version of Diablo II by releasing "Diablo II: Resurrected" worldwide on Friday.

"Diablo II: Resurrected" is a re-created masterpiece action role-playing game (RPG) of the existing games "Diablo II" and its expansion pack "Diablo II: Lord of Destruction" with 4K resolution and Dolby 7.1 surround sound. A 27 minute video was also created and included in the game.

"Diablo II," which was released as a computer game in 2000, is an RPG that has been praised as classical masterpieces, ranking No.21 within the "50 Best Video Games of All Time" list written by U.S. weekly magazine, Time, in 2016.

"This will be an opportunity to showcase one of the most beloved games in Blizzard's history to new game players," said Jen Oneal, co-leader of Blizzard Entertainment.

"Diablo II: Resurrected" has improved on many of the users' requests, such as expanding the storage space and automatically acquiring gold coins, while preserving the unique gameplay and system of "Diablo II."

The RPG was not only released on computers but also on consoles such as Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. The users are also allowed to access their characters regardless of the type of device they play on.

The price for the single package is 48,000 won and the exclusive package which contains the "Diablo III" expansion pack will cost 72,000 won.
