SEOUL, May 22 (Yonhap) -- Actors So Ji-sub, Choi Dae-hoon and Yoon Kyung-ho will return to television as devoted fathers in the upcoming SBS drama "Manager Kim."
SBS said Friday that the Friday-Saturday drama series will premiere June 26.
Based on the Naver webtoon of the same title, "Manager Kim" is a revenge action drama about an ordinary father who becomes the world's most dangerous man in order to rescue his only daughter.
So plays the title character Kim Bu-jang, a former inter-Korean covert operative who now works as an employee at a small savings bank while raising his daughter Min-ji.
Choi portrays Seong Han-su, a former taekwondo gold medalist who now teaches children at a taekwondo studio while raising his daughter Tae-hoon, while Yoon plays Park Jin-cheol, a former soldier once active on battlefields who has become the father of Da-bin.
The screenplay was written by director Nam Dae-jung, known for films "The Last Ride" and "Love Reset," while directing duties were handled by Lee Seung-young and Lee So-eun, who previously worked on dramas including "Wonderful World," "Tracer" and "Voice 2."
So recently drew attention for his intense action performance in the Netflix series "Mercy for None," which was also based on a webtoon.
The original webtoon "Manager Kim" is a spinoff sharing the same fictional universe as PTJ Comics titles including "Lookism" and "How to Fight," raising anticipation among fans for the drama adaptation.
