SEOUL, April 15 (Yonhap) -- Following the malicious spread of false information about the late Park Bo-ram online since her passing on the 11th, her agency, JENADO Entertainment, has announced plans for legal action.

 

On the 14th, the agency stated, "Malicious posts containing groundless and false information about the late Park Bo-ram are indiscriminately circulating through online communities, YouTube, and social media networks (SNS)." They emphasized that Park Bo-ram had endured cyberbullying with unverified facts since her debut, and the current propagation of fake news even after her passing constitutes a clear criminal act akin to killing her twice.

 

The agency further expressed, "Those who have encountered these posts, including her family, relatives, and acquaintances, are suffering immense shock and pain mentally," and appealed for the immediate removal of all false and speculative videos and posts.

 

The agency warned, "If such behavior continues, we will take strong civil and criminal actions," and asserted, "After the funeral proceedings, we will proceed with strict legal measures, and there will be no leniency or settlement."

 

Park Bo-ram passed away suddenly during a gathering with friends involving alcohol on the afternoon of the 11th. Funeral arrangements have yet to be finalized.

 

Meanwhile, fellow singers who appeared with Park Bo-ram on the audition program 'Superstar K2,' such as Lee Bo-ram and Kim Greem, mourned her on SNS.

 

Lee Bo-ram wrote, "I hope you find peace and happiness in a better place without pain," while Kim Greem left a message saying, "Bo-ram, always be happy from afar."
