SEOUL, April 9 (Yonhap) -- K-pop singer Hwasa will release her new song "So Cute" at 6 p.m. Thursday, her agency P Nation said.

"So Cute," a lively dance-pop track, marks her first release in about six months since "Good Goodbye," which came out in October last year and became a hit.

Hwasa said through her agency, “I have many different sides to me, but I felt I had only been telling intense stories, which became tiring. I wanted to express my quieter thoughts through this song.”

She participated in writing and composing the track, explaining, “This song began from a sense of fear. As I grow older, I come to know more, but sometimes I also feel a childlike fear within.”

“I wanted to portray the feeling of moving forward toward a small, cute ray of light amid such confusion,” she added.

Despite returning after the major success of "Good Goodbye," which topped various music charts, Hwasa said she does not feel pressured.

“I want to approach the next chapter as if starting again from zero,” she said.

“I don’t have a specific goal for this song, but I hope this small and humble, yet cute song can bring strength to many people,” she added.

Hwasa is also set to perform at the major music festival "Rock in Rio" in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in September.

“No matter how big or small, the stage is always precious to me,” she said. “As always, I will perform with love for the stage and for my fans.”
