SEOUL, Apr. 14 (Yonhap) -- Musicians representing domestic jazz music gather along to celebrate the 'International Jazz Day.'

The Korean Jazz Association announced on the 13th that they will hold '2022 Seoul Jazz Festa' starting from the 26th of this month to May 1st, in complex culture space in Nodeul island, Yongsan-gu district, Seoul.

Last year, the festival was held on the eve of 'International Jazz Day,' while this year, there will be various performances for a total of 6 days.

This year, a lot of jazz vocalists representing Korea such as Woong San and MALO will be on stage, and many ensembles embracing active musicians from the first to the third generation of jazz will appear as well.

During the 26th to 28th, there will be an unique concert to be enjoyed with expert's commentary about jazz vocalists who recently come into spotlight such as You Sa-rang, Moon (Hye-won), and Hae-in Cho.

Also, a special performance is prepared where top class vocalists such as Sung Huh, Kim Min-hee, Heo So-young, and Han Seok-gyu under the baton of Maria Kim who awarded the grand prize on 'Jazz album' sector in the 19th Korean Music Awards, will be on stage together.

In 2011, UNESCO designated April 30 as the 'International Jazz Day,' in order to promote the value of jazz, the cultural legacy of mankind.

An official from the association said, "Over one hundred musicians will gather to comfort people suffering from COVID-19 and to encourage the vitalization of art performing arts."
