SEOUL, Feb. 21 (Yonhap) -- HYBE, the agency behind BTS and SEVENTEEN, announced on Friday that it is set to debut a next-generation boy group in the United States.
Hybe Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, HYBE America CEO Scooter Braun, and star producer Ryan Tedder have formed a partnership to launch a new boy group project, HYBE said.
To facilitate this, HYBE has launched an official audition website (hybeamerica-audition.com) and has begun recruiting applicants. Those interested in participating must submit a profile photo, a self-introduction, and videos showcasing their vocal and dance skills. The eligible age range for applicants is 13 to 23 years old.
Ryan Tedder is a celebrated producer who has collaborated with global artists such as Beyonce, Adele, and Ed Sheeran, winning a total of four Grammy Awards. He has also contributed to songs such as TXT’s Back for More, &TEAM’s Dropkick, and Cat’s Eye’s Debut.
Scooter Braun, CEO of HYBE America, is well known for managing and fostering the careers of top pop stars such as Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.
Bang Si-hyuk, Chairman of HYBE, stated, "HYBE Music Group artists continue to achieve global success, topping major charts each year. The success of Cat’s Eye has proven that the K-pop methodology can thrive in the mainstream U.S. market. Ryan Tedder expressed his excitement, saying, "I’m thrilled to be part of this new and exciting project. We will create the most ‘fan-centric group’ with the best music."
