SEOUL, Oct. 11 (Yonhap) -- BLACKPINK's Jennie released her solo track Mantra along with its music video, her agency, OA Entertainment (ODDATELIER) announced on the 11th.
The song, characterized by its powerful and energetic atmosphere, encourages listeners to confidently embrace and showcase their unique charm. It carries a message of self-love and mutual support, urging everyone to celebrate their individuality.
Jennie expressed through her agency, "It's a perfect song to mark the beginning of a new era," adding that it not only aims to bring joy to fans but also presents a new side of her as a solo artist. She shared that she was inspired during the recording sessions in Los Angeles, hoping that listeners would feel the positive energy conveyed through the track.
The music video was directed by the renowned director Tanu Muino, who previously won the 'Best Direction' award at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2021 for Lil Nas X’s Montero. Muino is known for working with major international artists like Harry Styles, Doja Cat, and Cardi B, bringing his unique vision to the visual presentation of Mantra.
This release marks Jennie's return to the music scene after a year, following her single You & Me released in October of last year.
