SEOUL, June 25 (Yonhap) -- Singer Kim Gun-mo will release a new single, "How Far Along Would I Be," on July 1, his agency Geonum Co. said Thursday.

The release marks Kim's first new song in 10 years since his 25th debut anniversary album, "50," which came out in 2016.

"How Far Along Would I Be" is a remake of the title track from singer Jeon Young's first album, released in 1977. Kim not only sings the song but also performs the guitar parts himself.

Kim returned to the stage in March with a concert at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul, ending a six-year hiatus.

At the concert, he announced plans for new music, saying, "I will approach this as if I am making my debut again and prepare a new album with that mindset."
