SEOUL, Aug. 25 (Yonhap) -- Song Kang and Kim So-hyun are set to reunite for a romance drama five years after working together.

MBC said Tuesday that it is producing the new Friday-Saturday drama "White Scandal," starring Song Kang and Kim So-hyun.

Based on a webtoon of the same name, the series follows a third-generation chaebol heir and actor who does not want to become the successor and a fallen child star who begin a fake relationship to deceive the world.

Song Kang will play Dan Yi-hyuk, a top star in front of the camera and a third-generation chaebol heir behind it.

Kim So-hyun will portray Ji Eun-seol, a promising child actress who falls from fame after an incident and goes on to work as a manager.

The two actors previously starred together in the Netflix series "Love Alarm," whose first and second seasons were released in 2019 and 2021, respectively. They will reunite for a romance drama after five years.

The screenplay will be written by Kim Ga-eun, who penned "Tell Me That You Love Me," while Kim Cheol-kyu, who directed "Mother," "Flower of Evil" and "Celebrity," will helm the series.
