"LALISA" MV surpasses 100M views in 2 days in shortest period for K-pop solo singer

SEOUL, Sep. 13 (Yonhap) -- Music video for BLACKPINK member Lisa's solo debut song “LALISA” has surpassed 100 million views in the shortest period as a K-pop solo singer.


Music video for “LALISA” has exceeded a 100 million views at about 2:04 p.m. on the 12th, according to her agency YG Entertainment.

The video, released at 1 p.m. on the 10th, has reached a 100 million views the fastest as a K-pop solo artist’s in two days.

The previous record was PSY’s “Gentleman”’s music video (about 4 days) released in April 2013.

“LALISA”’s music video received a blaze from the fans around the world as soon as it was released marking about 70.5 million views in 24 hours since its uploading on YouTube.

The title song of Lisa’s solo debut single dropped on the 10th was from her real name “Lalisa Manoban.”

The music video maximized her glamor showing diverse sides of the artist riding a bike, pole dancing, wearing traditional Thai costumes, her homeland, and dancing.

The song topped iTunes song chart in 60 countries on its first day and later expanded its popularity to 66 countries.

With ‘Lisa Effect,’ BLACKPINK became the artist with the most YouTube subscribers in the world outrunning Justin Bieber.

The band’s YouTube channel subscribers surpassed Justin Bieber’s (65.1 million subscribers) on the 10th just after the release of Lisa’s solo debut song. The number kept rising and has marked 66.1 million on the 12th.

The number of BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel subscribers increased by 1.2 million after Lisa’s solo single’s release, according to YG Entertainment.

With the music video for “LALISA” reaching 100 million views, BLACKPINK’s videos with 100 millions of views have added up to 30. The band has another good news of exceeding 700 million views for “WHISTLE”’s music video, their debut song.
