SEOUL, April 3 (Yonhap) -- Singer-songwriter Hanroro released her new single "Love & Hate" on Friday, her agency Authentic said.
The release comes about eight months after her previous EP "Grapefruit Apricot Club," which was unveiled in August last year.
"Love & Hate" portrays the process of coming to understand oneself through inner conflict in a world where hatred and love repeatedly intersect. Through the single, Hanroro conveys messages about having the courage to be disliked and the courage to love.
The release contains two tracks — the title song "Game Over ?" and the B-side "1111."
"Game Over ?" expresses a determination not to waste one’s only life fighting hatred, as well as a resolve not to be consumed in the end through love. The question mark in the title suggests doubt over whether the ending is truly final.
"1111" also explores the dual emotions of love and hatred.
Hanroro is a rising singer-songwriter who has gained prominence across both the pop music and literary scenes.
Her song "You Will Love Me" from the August 2023 EP "Flight of Fancy" gained traction through word of mouth and climbed back up music charts, maintaining top-tier rankings more than two years and eight months after its release.
Her novel "Grapefruit Apricot Club," published in July last year, also topped bestseller lists seven months after its release.
