Ra Mi-ran Honored with Women in Film Korea Award

SEOUL, Dec. 4 (Yonhap) -- The Women In Film Korea organization announced on Wednesday that actress Ra Mi-ran has been named the recipient of this year’s Women in Film Korea Award. 

 

Ra was recognized for her contributions to Korean cinema, particularly through her performance in the film "Citizen of a Kind."

 

The Lifetime Achievement Award will go to Professor Ju Jin-sook, an emeritus professor at Chung-Ang University. 

 

A renowned film scholar, Professor Ju has served as president of the Film Critics Association and the Korean branch of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI). She was instrumental in founding the Women In Film Korea organization and authored the Encyclopedia of Women in Film, significantly contributing to the advancement of women in the film industry.

The Kang Soo-yeon Award, given to those who have made notable contributions to Korean cinema, will be presented to the Film Industry Crisis Response Alliance, recognized for its efforts to support the industry during challenging times.

 

The awards ceremony will take place on December 16 at Indie Space in Seoul, with actress Moon So-ri serving as the host.
