SEOUL, August 27 (Yonhap) -- Girl group BLACKPINK’s music video for new song “Pink Venom” surpassed 200 million YouTube views, its agency YG Entertainment announced on Saturday.

The music video, released on Aug. 19, exceeded 200 million views on Saturday at 2:11 a.m.

This is a record in 7 days 13 hours.

This is the second fastest speed for K-pop girl group to reach 200 million views following the shortest period of 7 days and 46 minutes “How You Like That.”

The music video for “Pink Venom” recorded 90.4 million views in the 24 hours after its release, breaking the world record for a female artist in 24 hours.

The song also debuted on the UK's official single chart Top 100, one of the world's two largest charts along with US Billboard, as No.22.

This is the eighth time BLACKPINK has entered the UK Official Singles Chart since “DDU-DU DDU-DU” in June 2018. Their highest ranking on this chart was No.17, “Sour Candy,” a collaborative song with Lady GaGa, in June 2020.

“Pink Venom” is a hip-hop genre with BLACKPINK's unique charisma. It starts with a traditional geomungo sound intro, and the sharp rap and impressive vocals convey the charm of all four members.
