SEOUL, July 25 (Yonhap) --South Korean crime action series “The Roundup” part three, starring actor Ma Dong-seok went under production starting on July 20, announced provider ABO Entertainment on Monday.

“The Roundup Part Three” is about cleaning out the Yakuza’s stationed in South Korea. Detective Ma Seok-do acted by Ma Dong-seok, works at a police station in Geumcheon district gets relocated to metropolitan investigation unit, therefore new characters will be introduced throughout the movie.

The antagonist who will follow the footsteps of Son Suk-ku and Yoon Kye-sang will be Lee Joon-hyuk who will act out the character Joo Sung-cheol and Japanese actor Aoki Munetaka who will act out the Yakuza member Ricky. Geumcheon Police Station’s chief of police Choi Gwi-hwa will be replaced with actor Lee Bum-soo as the chief of police Jang Tae-soo. Actor Kim Min-jae was casted to act out Ma Dong-seok’s right arm, Kim Man-jae. Adding on, Jeon Seok-ho and Ko Kyu-pil will appear as a scene stiller.

Director Lee Sang-yong who already directed the second part of “The Roundup” will continue on with directing the part three of “The Roundup.”

“The Roundup” which premiered on May 18 attracted total of 12.68 million audiences until July 24, continuing on with its fame for over 2 months on the screen. “The Roundup” is ranked 13th on the record of South Korean box office chasing after the movie “Assassination” which premiered in 2015 and attracted over 12.70 million audiences.

As for the total sales, “The Roundup” which recorded total of 131.2 billion won in sales until July 24, was ranked 3rd following the lead of “Extreme Job” which premiered in 2019 and “The Admeral: Roaring Currents.”
