SEOUL, Feb. 21 (Yonhap) – Lee Sang Myun, a member of the band Crying Nut is to hold his first solo exhibition as a painter at Maru Art Center Hall 4 in Insa-dong, Seoul, from the 22nd to the 27th, his agency Drug Records said on Monday.
Lee Sang Myun has participated in various group exhibitions as an artist while working as a part of Crying Nut and also won contests such as the 2022 Gyeongin Art Exhibition and the Hallyu Art Exhibition.
“I was able to concentrate on drawing due to the decrease in performances because of the COVID-19 outbreak, and I started art in earnest by posting my work on the jacket cover of the 25th anniversary album of Crying Nut,” he said.
“Music and art are the same in that one can express themselves with different tools, and in particular, I became interested in paintings because I thought I could express them musically,” he added.
In this exhibition, works such as “Old Bathhouse (translated),” a special selection of the Gyeongin Art Exhibition, and “Concert of the Future (translated)”, “Sailing (translated)” on the theme of music will be presented.
Crying Nut’s mini performance will also be held at 2 p.m. on the 25th.
