SEOUL, March 21 (Yonhap) -- K-pop girl group (G)I-dle, who returned in a year and two months, made a successful comeback by dominating the major music streaming sites.
The title song “TOMBOY” of the first full album “I NEVER DIE,” topped the real-time and the Top 100 charts of major music sites such as Melon, Genie, Bugs, and Flo, according to Cube Entertainment, on Mar. 20(KST).
"TOMBOY" is a song that highlights (G)I-DLE's confident appearance, and member Soyeon participated in writing, composing, and arranging the track. It provides a strong pleasure with the members’ voices that combine with the sound of rough yet magnificent instruments.
In particular, the album drew attention to whether it will succeed or not since it was first to be released after the team reorganized into a five-member group due to Soojin’s departure. (G)I-dle still showed off their 'undead' popularity as the title of the album.
The album topped the iTunes top album chart in 24 regions and the K-pop album chart in 11 countries.
The music video for “TOMBOY” recorded 40 million views on YouTube in five days.
