SEOUL, June 13 (Yonhap) -- Actors Lee Se-young and Na In-woo have been cast in the new MBC Friday-Saturday drama 'Motel California,' marking their first on-screen romance together.

MBC announced on the 13th that Lee Se-young and Na In-woo will be starring in 'Motel California,' a 12-episode romance drama set to air next year. The story revolves around a female protagonist who was born and raised in a rural motel. Twelve years after fleeing her hometown, she returns and reunites with her first love. The drama is based on the novel 'Home, Bitter Home' by author Shim Yoon-seo.

Lee Se-young will play the role of Ji Kang-hee, who left her family and first love behind at the age of twenty to move to the city, where she becomes an interior designer. Na In-woo takes on the role of Cheon Yeon-soo, Kang-hee's first love. Yeon-soo is a pure-hearted veterinarian who has loved only one woman his entire life and is highly regarded by all the farm owners in their rural village.

The drama brings together writer Lee Seo-yoon, known for '365: Repeat the Year,' and director Jang Joon-ho, who directed 'Time' and 'Mother.'
