SEOUL, Sept. 9 (Yonhap) -- Singer Kim Jong-kook has donated 70 million won in proceeds from his YouTube channel to help treat patients in need.
On Wednesday, Kim stated that he had donated all but the minimum production cost for his YouTube channel "GYM JONG KOOK," attaching a photo of the donation certificate.
According to the donation certificate, Kim recently donated 50 million won to Samsung Medical Center and 20 million to Sejong Hospital of Hyewon Medical Foundation. The donations will be used to provide patients with necessary medical care and children with heart diseases.
"Thank you again to all my subscribers who have participated in this good deed. This meaningful donation is made up with your support and sincerity, so I hope you feel more rewarding and continue to live a healthy life," Kim said.
Last month, Kim mentioned, "I believe everyone's positive influence and love for exercise can be more meaningful and enhanced if we are able to deliver it to people in need," adding, "We will be donating all profits--excluding the production costs--received from the five videos uploaded this month."
