SEOUL, Oct. 14 (Yonhap) -- Lee Hanee, known for her comedic performance as a warrior in MBC's drama Knight Flower, took home the Grand Prize at the Korea Drama Awards.
The Korea Drama Festival Organizing Committee announced on the 13th that the 15th Korea Drama Awards ceremony was held on the 12th at the Gyeongnam Culture and Arts Center in Jinju, Gyeongsangnam-do.
In her acceptance speech, Lee Hanee reflected, "When I first started acting, I had to overcome prejudices against tall women. Now, I see it as an opportunity rather than a disadvantage, allowing me to take on roles like that of a warrior. I take this award as encouragement to continue improving, and I will strive even harder."
The Best Drama Award went to tvN's Queen of Tears. The production team expressed their gratitude, saying, "This drama could be completed successfully thanks to the viewers who loved it until the very end."
The Best Actor Awards were given to Im Si-wan from Youth Generation and Jung Ryeo-won from Graduation. The Excellence Awards went to Lee Yi-kyung from Marry My Husband, Ji Seung-hyun from Goryeo-Khitan War, and Go Min-si from Sweet Home Season 2.
The Newcomer Awards were presented to Baek Seo-hoo from She Who Changes by Day and Night and Lee Si-woo and Kang Hye-won from Youth Generation. The late veteran actor Byun Hee-bong, who passed away in September of last year, was honored with a Special Achievement Award.
Additionally, the Hot Star Awards, determined by fan votes, went to Byeon Woo-seok from Carry Sun-jae and Run and Kim Ji-won from Queen of Tears. Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won, co-stars in Queen of Tears, were named Best Couple.
The Korea Drama Awards is a part of the Korea Drama Festival, which aims to foster the growth of the Korean drama industry and runs through October 18.
