SEOUL, May 8 (Yonhap) -- Busan International Film Festival remarked on the 8th that it is “sending its deep condolences” to actress Kang Soo-youn who passed away.
“Former executive Kang Soo-youn worked hard to promote Korean films to the world,” Busan International Film Festival conveyed through their social media. “From 2015 to 2017, as the executive chairman, she dedicated herself for the success operation of the Busan International Film Festival.”
They continued, “The Busan International Film Festival will never forget the hard work of Kang Soo-youn.”
Kang Soo-youn took part as an executive member from the beginning of the Busan International Film Festival in 1996, and even worked as the executive chairman from 2015 to 2017, right after the film festival faced a crisis due to the documentary, “The Truth Shall Not Be Sink With Sewol.”
Kang Su-yeon collapsed at her home with symptoms of cerebral hemorrhage and was hospitalized and unconscious for three days until she passed away on the 7th at 3 p.m. with the age of 55.
