SEOUL, Aug. 27 (Yonhap) -- The Seoul Fashion Week will showcase designs from 31 brands next month and feature an exhibition of stage outfits marking the 10th anniversary of K-pop group NCT's debut, the Seoul city government said Thursday.
The city unveiled details of the on-site programs for the "2027 S/S Seoul Fashion Week," which will be held Sept. 1-6 at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) and around Lotte World Tower in southeastern Seoul.
At the DDP, 17 designer brands, including Big Park, Caruso, Lie, Doucan, Holy Number 7, Ul:kin, Hanna Shin and Moia Moia, will present runway shows.
Eight brands, including July Column, Phenomenon Seeper, Effinger, Umba, Vmuette, Liu & Biu, Muka and Jayden Cho, will participate in presentation-style collection showcases.
At Lotte World Tower, Kimhekim, Greedilous, Dunst, General Idea, EBM and Mahagrid will hold runway shows. Kimhekim, led by designer Kim In-tae, will also operate a pop-up store on the third floor of Lotte Department Store's Jamsil Avenuel.
In addition to runway shows, the event will feature pop-up stores and various programs.
On Sept. 6, the final day of the event, a "Curated Runway" marking NCT's 10th debut anniversary will close out the fashion week. Stage outfits and memorabilia worn by NCT over the past decade will be reinterpreted in a runway format, with models performing to NCT songs.
From Sept. 4-6, an "NCT Stage Outfit Exhibition" will showcase signature outfits worn by NCT and its units NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV and NCT Wish.
An "NCT Flea Market" will also be held at the World Tower grass plaza from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 6, offering about 3,000 pieces of stage-related clothing for sale. Proceeds will be donated to causes involving women, youth and culture.
Adidas will operate an experiential pop-up featuring the "Stan Smith Seoul Edition," including a "Stan Smith Custom Package" by designer Kim In-tae.
A range of programs will also support Korean fashion brands seeking to expand overseas.
The trade show, the event's main business program, will take place Sept. 2-4 at DDP Art Hall 2 and the Igan-sumun Exhibition Center. Retailers including French department store Printemps, LVMH Group's La Samaritaine, Japan's United Arrows, Singapore's Club21 and Hong Kong's HBX will participate.
About 100 Korean brands will take part in a showroom exhibition to hold business meetings with global buyers. A "showroom tour," in which buyers visit brands directly, will also be held in major fashion districts including Seongsu, Gangnam and Hannam.
From Aug. 31 to Sept. 2, a "Berlin Showroom" will be held at the ZZON building in Seongsu-dong, showcasing 12 brands based in Berlin.
"This year's Seoul Fashion Week has diversified its programs beyond runway shows to include pop-ups, exhibitions and K-culture content, allowing visitors to experience fashion firsthand," Lee Nam-jae, head of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Beauty and Fashion Industry Division, said. "We will provide citizens and tourists with opportunities to enjoy K-fashion up close, while giving Korean brands business opportunities to advance into global markets."
