SEOUL, Dec. 12 (Yonhap) -- Pianist Son Yeol Eum has announced her resignation as the Art director of Music in PyeongChang, 

Son Yeol Eum wrote a post on Facebook on Monday, saying, "I am leaving Music in PyeongChang where I have worked for about five years," adding, "I am thankful to those who loved Music in PyeongChang and me."

Son continued, "Although this is a little early goodbye than expected, I have no regret as I have been doing my best," adding, "I sincerely hope the best for Music in PyeongChang."

Son took office as an art director of Music in PyeongChang in March 3018.

Being the third art director following first art director Kang Hyo, and second directors Chung Myung-wha and Chung Kyung-Wha , Son has led five Music in PyeongChang Music Festival and four Music in PyeongChang Winter Music Festival.

The 19th Music in PyeongChang, which took place at PyeongChang area this July for the longest (3 weeks) time and largest size, finished with success as the biggest classical festival since COVID-19 pandemic.

It is told that Son has declined the renewal of contract as the art director this spring due to her busy schedules.

Pianist Son, also well recognized for her talent in world stage, is highly regarded for expanding the base of Music in PyeongChang through various attempts with her creative production capabilities and fervor.
