DAEJEON, April 23 (Yonhap) -- The city of Daejeon said Thursday it will operate some city bus routes without stopping at designated bus stops in parts of the downtown area on April 25 in response to rallies for and against the Daejeon Queer Culture Festival.
The rallies are scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., with around 4,800 participants expected.
Two street marches are planned at 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., during which traffic will be restricted in areas including Jungangno and Daeheung-dong.
At 3 p.m., buses will pass without stopping at eight bus stops, including those near Eunhaeng-dong Street and Exit 9 of Jungangno Station. At 6:30 p.m., additional stops, including those near Daeheungdong Cathedral and Exit 1 of Jungangno Station, will also be affected.
A total of 22 bus routes will be impacted, and operations will be adjusted flexibly depending on on-site traffic control conditions.
The city plans to post notices inside buses and at affected stops, and provide information on the non-stop operations through bus information terminals.
