SEOUL, July 12 (Yonhap) -- South Korean Pianist Cho Seong-jin will be performing “Piano Concerto No.1” by Chopin at Open Theater in Yonsei University Seoul in August 31, announced Credia Music on Monday.
Chopin’s “Piano Concert No.1”, which will be played by Cho Seong-jin is a piece he played at the final round of the International Chopin Competition to take the first place in 2015. Chopin’s “Piano Concerto No.1” is also included in his first studio album released in 2016, by the German classical music label Dutsche Grammophon.
This will be his first time performing Chopin’s “Piano Concerto No.2” in Korea.
Ensemble Kremerata Baltica will be collaborating with Cho Seong-jin in 4 years.
Ensemble, Kremerata Baltica which was formed in 1997 by the world renowned violinist Gidon Kremer collaborated at Italy in 2017 and in Germany on 2018 where they performed “Chopin Concerto No.1 and No.2”.
Moreover, Cho Seong-jin will be collaborating with South Korean clarinetist Kim Han on Francis Poulenc’s “Sonata for clarinet and piano” and Gershwin’s “Prelude No.1”.
The concert will also be held at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts on August 30.
