SEOUL, June 22 (Yonhap) -- Heeseung, formerly of K-pop boy group ENHYPEN, will make his solo debut under the new stage name Evan with the single "RIDE OR DIE" on Monday, his agency BELIFT LAB said.
The single contains the alternative rock title track "RIDE OR DIE" and the easy-listening indie pop song "Overflow."
Evan took the lead in writing, composing and producing both tracks, while also overseeing the overall visual creative direction.
"I hope many people will find hope and comfort through this album," Evan said through his agency. "Just as the music of artists I admired gave me strength, I hope my music can become more than hope and serve as a reason for someone to keep going."
Speaking about the title track, he added, "The song itself is very appealing, and its charm becomes even greater on stage. It will be interesting to explore the message and meaning behind the song, but watching the performance again will offer an even more engaging experience."
He also reflected on his musical journey, saying, "Life is a process in which everyone searches for their true self in their own way. I believe that as I continue making music, I will gradually discover the version of myself that is most authentic."
