SEOUL, April 15 (Yonhap) -- South Korean trot-pop singer Lim Young-woong’s latest single "More Beautiful Than Heaven" soared to the top of domestic music charts upon release, his agency Mulgogi Music said Monday.
The song, which dropped at 6 p.m. on Sunday, climbed to No. 1 on Melon’s “Hot 100” chart within just an hour of its release. It also ranked high on other major streaming platforms, including Bugs and Genie.
Melon’s “Hot 100” chart is a key indicator of a song’s popularity, calculated based on streaming volume over the past hour for tracks released within the past 30 or 100 days. Alongside the “Top 100,” it serves as a major benchmark for measuring real-time interest in new releases.
More Beautiful Than Heaven is a ballad track from the original soundtrack of the JTBC weekend drama of the same name, blending poetic lyrics with Lim’s emotive and tender vocals.
