'Avatar: The Way of Water" tops movie reservation rate of South Korea

SEOUL December 8 (Yonhap) -- Block buster movie “Avatar: The Way of Water” topped the reservation rate among movies with one week until its premiere showcasing its upcoming success.

According to the integrated network of movie tickets by the Korean Film Council on Thursday, “Avatar: The Way of Water” which will be premiering on December 14 opened up its tickets on December 7 topping the reservation rate among other movies. On December 7 at 7:43 p.m. “Avatar: The Way of Water” scored 26.7 percent reservation rate which accumulates up to 52 thousand audiences.

South Korean blockbuster movie “The Owl” which has been sitting on top of the South Korean box office since its premiere on November 23, has dropped down to second on the list after attracting 40 thousand audiences with 20.5 percent reservation rate.

“Avatar: The Way of Water” is about the journey and the battle family of Jake Sully, acted by actor Sam Worthington, and Neytiri acted by Zoe Saldana embarks on in order to survive. Upcoming Avatar movie is the sequel to the global box office chart topper “Avatar” released in 2009, director James Cameron led the production.
