SEOUL March 2 (Yonhap) -- Global OTT service platform Netflix’s South Korean survival variety show “Physical 100” has been caught in a controversy over the manipulation of the final competition.
Throughout an interview with a media outlet of South Korea on February 28, professional cyclist Jung Hae-min addressed that the production team has stopped the final competition twice due to technical difficulties despite the fact that he was leading the competition.
Cyclist Jung Hae-min who participated in the “Physical 100” went against cross fit competitor Woo Jin-yong during the final match which aired on February 21. Both of the contestants went against each other on a match of pulling ropes, and as a result, cross fit competitor Woo Jin-yong won the match and was awarded with 300 million won.
Later on throughout various online community, rumors regarding the technical difficulties which has caused interruption of the competition and how that has led to the change in the final winner of the competition has been switched.
According to producers of “Physical 100” “After the sudden pause of the final competition, the match has been resumed under agreements of both contestants,” adding “The final match was stopped due to technical difficulties and in order to listen to participants opinions. The pause of the competition has nothing to do with overriding the result of the final match.”
