Hur Jin-ho’s ‘Ordinary Family’ to Hit Theaters in October

SEOUL, Aug. 21 (Yonhap) -- Film "A Normal Family," directed by Hur Jin-ho and starring veteran actors Sul Kyung-gu, Jang Dong-gun, and Kim Hee-ae, is set to be released in October, according to distributor Hive Media Corp on the 21st.

 

A Normal Family depicts the unraveling of four individuals as they watch CCTV footage of their child committing a crime. Sul Kyung-gu, Jang Dong-gun, Kim Hee-ae, and Claudia Kim (Soo-hyun) portray these characters, each driven by different beliefs.

 

The film is based on the Dutch author Herman Koch's novel The Dinner, which tells the story of a seemingly ordinary middle-class family that faces intense conflict after an unexpected incident. The novel became a bestseller in the Netherlands following its publication in 2009.

 

Director Hur Jin-ho is known for his works such as Christmas in August (1998), One Fine Spring Day (2001), April Snow (2005), Happiness (2007), The Last Princess (2016), and Forbidden Dream (2019).
