SEOUL, Dec. 9 (Yonhap) -- BLACKPINK’s music video for Playing with Fire has reached 900 million views on YouTube, YG Entertainment announced on Monday.
The milestone was achieved at approximately 4:41 a.m. on the previous day, nearly eight years and one month after the song’s release in November 2016.
Playing with Fire is one of the double title tracks from the group's second single album, Square Two. The song's lyrics liken the emotions of a girl falling in love to playing with fire, adding a metaphorical charm to its narrative.
With this achievement, BLACKPINK now has 12 videos with over 900 million views on YouTube. In total, the group boasts 47 videos that have surpassed the 100-million-view mark.
Earlier, BLACKPINK’s music video for DDU-DU DDU-DU surpassed 2.2 billion views, while Kill This Love crossed the 2 billion view mark, cementing their dominance on the platform.
BLACKPINK’s official YouTube channel has over 95.3 million subscribers, the most for any artist worldwide. The channel's cumulative view count has surpassed 37.5 billion, highlighting the group's global popularity.
