SEOUL, July 26 (Yonhap) -- “Since our debut, we wanted Rookie of the Year award. We want it this year really bad.”
New K-pop boy group YOUNITE revealed their ambition during the media showcase for the group’s second mini album, “YOUNI-Q” on Monday.
Member Eunsang said “We put our ambition to ‘go higer, go farther’ in this album,” adding, “We want to appeal ourselves as a rookie group with confidence.”
YOUNITE explained alphabet ‘Q’ in their album “YOUN-Q” has a mutual meaning of Question and Question.
Hyungseok further explained, “The alphabet Q asks ourselves ‘Can you do better?’ while it also means we will all work together to accomplish the quest.”
The album “YOUN-Q” is composed of five songs including “AVIATOR,” “TRAVELER,” “SWISH.” “COME AROUND,” and “I Like You.”

YOUNITED, who are returning three months after releasing last album, said they received a lot of help from a rapper and producer RHYMER, the head of their agency, Brand New Music.
Eunho said, “He directed us and even sang songs to give us advice,” adding, “He gave us confidence by saying ‘Because the song is good, my body moves on its own.’
The nine-piece group debuted in April this year is composed of former X1 member Eunsang, along with members Eunho, Steve, Hyunseung, Hyungseok, Woono, DEY, Kyungmun, and Sion.
