SEOUL, May 22 (Yonhap) -- A music-themed healing festival will take place along the Hwangnyong River in Jangseong, South Jeolla Province, during the upcoming Buddha's Birthday holiday from May 23-25, local officials said Friday.
The Hwangnyong River Music Healing Festival will be held throughout the riverside area of the Hwangnyong River, where seasonal flowers are currently in full bloom.
Jangseong County, which has traditionally hosted spring flower festivals along the river every May, said this year's event will offer visitors new memories through a diverse lineup of music performances.
The opening ceremony on May 23 will feature performances by singers Hong Jin-young, Park Seong-on and Ji Chang-min, followed by a fireworks display.
The "Jangseong Music Festival," scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on May 24, will feature performances by Roy Kim, Lee Ye-joon, Gongwon, Can't Be Blue and Unofficial.
On May 25, the final round of "Jangseong Busking," featuring musicians from across the country, will take place on the main stage at Hwangnyong Garden.
Beginning at 2 p.m. the same day, visitors will also be able to participate in a "treasure hunt of memories" event at the Hwangnyong River Ecological Park.
Visitors who donated to Jangseong County through this year's hometown love donation program will receive up to two tickets per person to the Jangseong Music Festival on a first-come, first-served basis, with 250 seats available in total.
In addition, visitors who submit receipts showing purchases of more than 50,000 won at restaurants in Jangseong during May will receive one front-row admission ticket per person at the festival registration booth.
Shim Woo-jung, acting mayor of Jangseong County, said he hopes visitors will stroll along the flower-lined Hwangnyong River with loved ones while enjoying the beautiful music.
