SEOUL April 15 (Yonhap) -- The English version of the global hit song "Cupid" by K-pop girl group Fifty Fifty, titled "Cupid-Twin-ver.," has reached 50 million streams on the global music search platform Shazam.
Fifty Fifty's agency, Attract, announced on the Monday, "This marks the first and highest record among K-pop female artists, with only BTS being the sole K-pop group to achieve 500 million streams."
Shazam is a popular music search app with over 100 million users. When users search for a song, it displays which regions have searched for the song the most on a map along with the title.
"Cupid-Twin-ver." is the English rendition of the title track "Cupid" from their first single "The Beginning: Cupid," released in February 2023. As the English version gained global popularity on platforms like TikTok, Fifty Fifty has achieved various records on U.S. Billboard chart, UK Official chart, and the Global Spotify chart.
"Cupid-Twin-ver." has maintained steady popularity, re-entering the U.S. Billboard 'World Digital Song Sales' chart at No. 9, 'World Albums' chart at No. 15, and 'Global 200' chart (excluding the U.S.) at No. 197 in February.
